Che Guevara – A Revolutionary Life
John Lee Anderson’s book ‘Che Guevara – A Revolutionary Life‘ is fantastically written and clearly very well researched. Che Guevara was a national hero and an adored rebel who dreamed of ending poverty and unfair treatment in Latin America and the developing world. Anderson details Che Guevara’s life and traces it from his happy upbringing in Argentina right through to the dangerous, dark battlefields of the Cuban Revolution. He delves into the most important moments of his life, including his failed campaign in the Congo to his Assassination in the Bolivian jungle.
It is clear that John Lee Anderson is a great admirer of Che Guevara and has a tremendous amount of respect for him. This is evident from the huge amount of detailed research into his exciting, heroic life. Che Guevara is illuminated through Anderson’s powerful words and wonderful, descriptive language. By the end of the book you feel as though you knew Che Guevara personally.
At first I was worried that making this book into an audio format would be a bit of a mistake as it is very wordy and at times slightly like a historic novel. Thankfully it translates very well into an audio book format and I enjoyed listening to the entire book very much. This is mostly due to Armando Duran and his brilliant narration. He does a fantastic job bringing this story to life and keeps the people hungry for more information and detail on this dashing rebel. This book is a definite must for any audio-book collection.
